In this article, you will be setting up the label sizes on your local computer to reflect the size and orientation of the labels you are using.
Windows
Go to your printer settings by opening the Control Panel -> Devices and Printers, then right clicking your printer and selecting Printer Preferences.
Click the Advanced button. Under the Paper Size dropdown, ensure that the proper label size for your labels is selected. You will need to follow the same process with the other set of printing settings by going back to the Control Panel -> Devices and Printers, right clicking your printer, selecting Printer Properties -> Advanced tab -> Printing Defaults -> Advanced, and the change the Paper Size to the same as you chose before.
Mac
Changing the paper sizes on a Mac can be complex, so first make sure that the paper size you are looking for does not already exist in the PDF Print Settings (click Show Details, then click the Paper Size dropdown).
If your paper size is not there, then head to "http://localhost:631/printers" in your browser. This is an interface called CUPS, which is how Mac's control their printer settings.
If you get an error that the "Web Interface is Disabled", you will have to open Terminal and copy and paste the command listed: "cupsctl WebInterface=yes". After that, you can visit the link above again.
From the list, choose the printer you are printing with. In the next page, in the dropdown list, choose "Set Default Options".
From this page, you can choose the default paper size. Find your label size there and select it. If you do not find it there, you can choose the "Custom" option and enter your own label size. Finally, click Set Default Options and your new label size will be saved.
